HELMI KAJASTE

Helmi Kajaste has already done much in her career: she has worked as an architect, found success as a musician, made short films and music videos, and written the essay collection Rakenna, kärsi ja unhoita (2020). Making music under the name Draama-Helmi, Kajaste won the prestigious Teosto Award this year for her new album Draama-Helmi kuistilla. Interested in film ever since childhood, Kajaste is currently working on her dissertation at Aalto University, focusing on the relationship between architecture and cinema. At the Midnight Sun Film Festival, she opens the screening of Jacques Tati’s Mon oncle (1958), delving into the film from an architectural point of view.
