JUHANI PALLASMAA

Juhani Pallasmaa is an internationally renowned Finnish architect legend, author, and emeritus professor. He has worked as professor and dean in the Helsinki University of Technology, the director of the Institute of Design and Fine Arts and the Museum of Finnish Architecture, as well as a guest lecturer at universities all over the world. He has been awarded with the Finnish State Architecture Award in 2000. Pallasmaa’s works as architect include Itäkeskus and the Kamppi Shopping Centre, as well as restoration of the Korundi House of Culture in Rovaniemi. At the Midnight Sun Film Festival, Pallasniemi holds an open lecture, in which he dives into Alfred Hitchcock’s films from the point of view of architecture, with particular focus on Rope (1948).
