At the traditional football match of the Midnight Sun Film Festival, festival guests and staff face off against each other at the Sodankylä sports field! Over the years, players like Ville Virtanen, Olaf Möller, and Aki Kaurismäki as the goalkeeper have taken part in the game. This year, the participants are sure to include familiar Sodankylä favourites as well as Finnish and international festival guests. Mika Kaurismäki is the event’s main patron.
The football match is a decades-long tradition of the Midnight Sun Film Festival and a feel-good event, with an atmosphere that remains relaxed yet suitably exciting year after year. The sports park is located at Kasarmintie 20, 99600 Sodankylä. The football field is next to the sports hall.
